MT Legislature Sausage Making 101

We paid for this so let’s get our moneys worth for something worth while.

Wondering when and where meetings will happen this session? There are two places to look:

1) LAWS (Legislative Automated Workflow System) http://goo.gl/e10fP and

2) Legislative Events Calendar: http://goo.gl/sdZDs

What’s the difference between these two sources?

All meetings with bills attached to them will be available in LAWS. This is where the most up to date information lives regarding all bills, but meetings need to have a bill to be entered into this database.

Where do other meetings got noticed which do not have bills attached to them?

Any legislative meeting which does not have a bill attached to it (presentations, trainings, organizational meetings, etc.) will be on the Legislative Events Calendar.

These calendars will not have overlapping information. If it’s not in one, it should be in the other. If it’s not in either, please contact the Legislative Information Desk 406-444-4800 (first floor) and we will do our best to track down what you are looking for.

Looking for rotunda events? These events are not put on by the Legislature, but we do know where to find them! Navigate to the Capitol Events eCalendar (http://goo.gl/c5sNF) to see all upcoming rotunda events.
